The Omega Seamaster Ref. 145.029 is a definitive representative of 1970s watch design, blending robust tool-watch functionality with the bold, high-contrast color palettes of the era. This specific execution, featuring a deep matte blue dial punctuated by vibrant orange accents, offers a striking visual profile that remains highly sought after by collectors of vintage sports chronographs.

Often referred to as the "Flat Jedi," a nickname coined by the late, renowned Omega scholar Chuck Maddox, this reference is distinguished by its sharp, angular tonneau-shaped case. Unlike the chunky, hooded-lug "Jedi" Ref. 145.024, the 145.029 offers a more streamlined and wearable silhouette while maintaining a commanding presence on the wrist.

Inside beats the Calibre 861, the legendary manual-wind movement that succeeded the Calibre 321. Known for its reliability and precision, this is the same movement architecture that powered the Speedmasters worn during the later Apollo missions, making it a cornerstone of Omega’s horological heritage.

This example is a superb survivor of the "vibrant 70s" era. The matte blue dial has retained its deep saturation without any spotting, and the orange chronograph hands provide a sharp, neon contrast that is quintessential to this reference. The sunburst brushing on the top of the 40mm case remains crisp, highlighting the "Flat Jedi" geometry that defines its place in the Seamaster lineage.
