In 1973, Omega unveiled the third generation of its iconic Flightmaster with the reference number 145.036, mirroring the model we showcase today. Throughout its production span from 1969 to approximately 1977, Omega crafted four distinct variations of the Flightmaster, with three models crafted in steel and one in solid gold.

Setting the third generation apart from its predecessors is the addition of a running subsidiary register positioned at nine o'clock, reminiscent of the second generation reference 145.026. This iteration, dubbed the "911," adopted a modified caliber 861 movement, replacing the previous AM/PM indicator with a continuously running seconds register. Visually akin to the Speedmaster, this alteration underlines the functional resemblance between the two timepieces.

Echoing the Speedmaster's association with NASA, the Flightmaster found favor with ROSCOSMOS, the Soviet space agency, cementing its spacefaring legacy. Notably, this particular model features the coveted & rarer, \ yellow 'professional' hands, optimized for visibility in the red-lit flight decks prevalent during its era.

Embodying the spirit of the golden age of aviation, the Flightmaster epitomizes a blend of precision, utility, and captivating design. Tailored to the needs of pilots, this timepiece seamlessly integrates a chronograph function, multi-time zone capabilities, and a distinctive rotating bezel, rendering it indispensable for jet setters and explorers alike.

This particular model is rare, late production 1976 Omega Flightmaster ST146.036. It's distinctive feature being radial (circular) case brushing instead of a sunburst finish. The movement number places it in the very last year of production of the Fightmaster.

In our (humble) opinions, this is the nicest 1976 Flightmaster available in the market.
