This 1970s Heuer Autavia 11630 has a sporty killer look thanks to its black-in-black design with bright orange accents.  It is a direct the successor to the 1163 ‘Orange Boy’ (which trades for more than twice the price).    The main difference between these two references is the watch crystal and handset; this reference has mineral crystal instead of an acrylic crystal. That creates a flatter look compared to the domed plexiglass of the reference 1163.

This particular Autavia has a black dial with slightly lighter blueish gray sub-dials. The orange accents in the hands and in the 30-minute counter provide a nice contrast. The 12-hour counter at 9 o'clock shows numbers from 1 to 12.  The dial is near flawless.  Overall, the chronograph has a stylish, sporty appearance.

Condition:

Overall this example is in excellent condition  The case shows intact sunburst finish and sharp edges. The reference and serial numbers are clearly legible between the lugs. The black bezel inset has some light scuff and wear along the edge. The bezel is rotatable and shows hour and minute markings, which is why the full reference is 11630MH.

The Autavia is powered by the automatic Caliber 12, which has been serviced recently and is running super strong with an amplitude of 305 and gain just 15 seconds per day.

The watch comes fitted on a new black leather "rally" strap.
