The Heuer Autavia is perhaps one of the most iconic racing chronographs. Heuer first applied the name "Autavia" (a combination of "automotive" and "aviation") to dashboard clocks in cars and airplanes. But it's with the chronographs intended for use in motorsports that the name "Autavia" is best associated.
The 1972 Heuer Autavia Reference 73363 is a striking vintage chronograph that captures the essence of 1970s motorsport heritage. Powered by the reliable manual-wind Valjoux 7733 movement, this model features a 42mm stainless steel cushion case, known for its bold, rugged design. The "Villeneuve Colours" variant boasts a sleek black dial with vibrant orange hands, a nod to racing legend Gilles Villeneuve, complemented by a tachymeter or minute/hour bi-directional bezel with a luminous dot at 12 o’clock, fluted pushers, and a signed Heuer crown. Condition:
The example offered here dates from the early 1970s and is in mint condition. The black dial surface is free of any marks. The right sub-dial show the 30-minute counter and the left sub-dial, small running seconds. Dial and hands are in excellent condition and all the tritium intact. This particular example features striking orange tones.
The case is free of noticeable blemishes and retains it lovely combination of brushed and polished surfaces.
The bezel is in excellent condition with no noticeable scratches.
All time-keeping and chronograph functions are in working order and the movement is running very strongly for its age: -27 / 331.

Water Resistance: Approximately 30 meters (not suitable for diving, typical for vintage chronographs).
