1970 Omega Seamaster ‘Jumbo’ Ref 166.087 - NOS Condition

A resemblance to the Patek Phillippe ‘Calatrava’ 3579 for a fraction of the price!

$2200.00

This Omega Seamaster Ref 166.087 is already a rare model, and this particular version with its ‘electric blue’ dial is the most beautiful and sought after by collectors.  The stunning dial with its hairline texture, transforms depending on the angle and intensity of the light reflecting from its face.  The tonneau-shaped case form is rare amongst vintage Seamasters and is reminiscent of the Speedmaster Mk2 Professional.

The contrasts between the white outer dial, applied silver markers & logo, black & white hands and the sky blue seconds hand, give this watch a sophisticated appearance that resembles the Patek Phillippe ‘Calatrava’ 3579.  It is stylistically simple and constant in its approach as a classical, yet slightly unorthodox offering.

The case back is perfectly preserved with its Omega logo and seahorse medallion and still bears the purple factory protective coating.

The dimensions are 38x42mm and a thickness of 10.5mm (including glass).  The watch comes with the original navy blue leather strap & matching buckle.

The automatic winding caliber 1002 with its large rotor has been checked by our in-house watch-maker and is running strongly for its age, gaining just 11 seconds per day.

The watch is in “NOS-like” condition and perfect for a collector seeking a sophisticated and distinctive 1970’s style, dress watch.

Option: Accompanying Red Omega Service Box.
